Retired Pastor Mary Pharmer lived in El Paso on the Texas-Mexico border for the first three months of 2018, returning in the spring of 2019. She volunteered with Annunciation House, a ministry of hospitality for immigrants seeking safety and a better future. From El Paso, people newly arrived travel to sponsors across the United States. Mary uses pictures to tell what she observed in the El Paso area. Her main desire is to be a “bridge not a wall” and find ways to connect in this divisive time.
