Hunger Mission Project

  • St. John's Lutheran Church 312 South Third Street Evansville, WI (map)

Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 6, 2022. This time of mission and service returns to St. John’s for the 10th year. On Sunday, February 6, from 10:15am – 12:45pm, we will participate in an on-site mission project for Kids Against Hunger.

In Wisconsin, 578,480 people are struggling with hunger – and of them, 197,290 are children. 1 in 6 children struggles with hunger. Kids Against Hunger is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to end these tragedies. Kids Against Hunger packages and ships highly nutritious, life-saving meals to starving and malnourished children in developing countries and the United States.

In about two hours, we will package nutritionally-rich meals full of proteins, carbohydrates, and vitamins that are easily digestible – perfect for a malnourished body and mind. The contents of each meal cost $0.17, and we’ll package 25,000 meals! We’ll pool our dollars together for the $4,250 needed to pay for the food and the logistics to get the food to hungry children. Roughly 70 St. John’s mission workers will be needed to package the meals. Plan to join us!
