The Lenten season offers a time for reflection and repentance. Some people choose to give up a bad habit, reminding themselves of Jesus’ temptations in the wilderness. Some choose to pick up a good habit, embracing the six weeks as a time to grow closer to God. One way to deepen faith is through daily reading and reflection. This Lent the people of St. John’s are reading Book of Faith Lenten Journey: Beyond Question by Eric Burtness and are invited to a small group experience that will draw them closer to God and one another.
Jesus asks questions throughout the Gospels. These are not questions with easy answers. They are transformative questions that challenge us, reposition us, change us, and draw us into deeper faith and discipleship:
What are you looking for?
Where is your faith?
Who do you say I am?
What do you want me to do for you?
Do you love me?
How will you believe what I say?
Whom are you looking for?
This daily Lenten devotional is a guide to exploring these and other questions from Jesus. Take this forty-day journey with us!
Small groups will meet for 6 weeks starting March 6 on Sundays at 10:15am, Wednesdays at 12pm (online), Wednesdays at 5:15pm, and Wednesdays at 7:30pm. Sign up and pick up your book in the Gathering Area or by contacting Amy Floan.
