School backpacks contain work to be done, work that’s been returned, books to be studied, and the tools to complete homework. In early September, students jump back into the adventures of learning, and we know that God goes with them. During worship on August 24 & 25, all students (children, youth, and adults) are invited to bring their backpacks. Both students and backpacks will be blessed for the coming year of learning. Students will also receive a special “Shine Like Stars” keychain for their backpacks to remind them of Psalm 148:3, “Praise him, sun and moon; Praise him, all you shining stars!” Teachers and school staff will also be in our prayers. God is the one who calls us to learn and to teach. All the activities and jobs that we perform are made holy as we do them for God’s glory and for the good of others.
