Marriage Matters: 7-week Asynchronous Class

  • St. John's Lutheran Church 312 South Third Street Evansville, WI (map)

America’s relationship experts John & Julie Gottman are convinced that the key to healthy relationships is in the details. Love is all about the small stuff. Their latest book “The Love Prescription” declares that “tiny little doses, every day, is what it takes to make a healthy relationship” (xi). The Gottmans are also confident that every relationship requires effort, at every stage. Couples deserve to renew their relationship with a retreat or class every year. When was the last time you intentionally invested in your marriage with a class or retreat? Pastor Matt and Becca Poock invite you to join them for a 7-week journey to “more intimacy, connection, and joy” in your relationship. This is for stable couples of every age who want to enhance their relationship. The class is asynchronous, meaning we do it together, on a schedule, but on our own time. This includes: 1) reading one chapter a week (about 15 pages); 2) practicing the chapter with your partner each week; and 3) reporting to the class weekly by Sunday night. Reading starts the week of October 14; buy your book before then. The class culminates with a date night on Sunday, November 24, 6-7:30pm. RSVP to Pastor Matt at pastor@stjohns-lc.org to invest in your marriage.
