Our Evansville Ecumenical Care Closet provides Thanksgiving baskets each year to 75+ client-friends. St. John’s is supplying ingredients “4” the dessert again this year. Our goal is 100 of the following 4 ingredients: 15 oz can pumpkin puree, 12 oz evaporated milk, pumpkin pie spice (2oz), and yellow cake mix.

Bring any or all of these 4 ingredients to the church building by Sunday, November 17. In case you’re curious, here’s the recipe to go with the ingredients:

Great Pumpkin Dessert:

1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin

1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk

3 eggs

1 cup white sugar

4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix

3/4 cup butter, melted

1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Combine pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar, and spice. Mix well and pour into pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix over top, then drizzle with melted butter. Top with walnuts. Bake 1 hour or until a knife inserted near the center come out clean.
