Vicar Christopher is originally from the American South, attending college at Louisiana State University (LSU) and studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France. Since 2003, he has lived in Madison when he began graduate studies in French at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Christopher’s professional history is quite diverse. He served in international sales for Trek Bicycle in Waterloo, Wisconsin, building relationships with customers in French-speaking Canada as well as many partners in Europe. In 2015, Christopher returned to UW-Madison for a graduate degree in environmental conservation. He served as a National Park Ranger in Northwest Wisconsin and later as an environmental educator with WI Dept. of Natural Resources.
In 2021, Christopher answered to call to ministry and entered candidacy in Word and Sacrament in the South-Central Synod of Wisconsin, beginning his studies at Luther Seminary (St. Paul, MN) in the fall of 2022. Raised in the Church, he is the son of a Lutheran pastor mom and an organist dad. Christopher lives on Madison’s Northside with his wife Abby and son Andrew. When he isn’t serving the church, you might find Christopher fly-fishing the streams of Southern Wisconsin or hiking the Ice Age Trail.
